- Some international travel now requires patients to have quick access (QR Codes) to COVID test results. Unfortunately, Matthews-Vu is unable to provide this service.
- CDC Recommendations: COVID19 Pfizer Booster Update
- Matthews-Vu now offers COVID vaccines for patients 12 years and older. Patients ages 12 -17 must be accompanied by a legal guardian to receive the COVID vaccine. Vaccines will be administered by appointment only at individual Matthews-Vu locations (8/2/21).
- Matthews-Vu can perform Rapid (15 minutes) Covid-19 Nucleic Acid Detection tests at all clinic locations. Additionally, we have the capability for Covid-19 PCR testing with a typical turnaround time of 24-48 hours. (8/2/2021)

- Matthews-Vu offers a variety of visit options during this time. If you will be visiting us in person, you will be required to wear a mask. If you do not have a mask, one will be provided to you upon check-in.
- According to the CDC, patients with Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children (MIS-C) associated with COVID-19 may present with persistent fever and a variety of signs and symptoms, including multi-organ (e.g., cardiac, gastrointestinal, renal, hematologic, dermatologic, neurologic) involvement, and elevated inflammatory markers. - According to the CDC, “people with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported – ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. People with these symptoms may have COVID-19: cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fever, chills, muscle pain, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell. Children have similar symptoms to adults and generally have mild illness. This list is not all-inclusive. Other less common symptoms have been reported, including gastrointestinal symptoms like nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea.” (5/11/20)

- Matthews-Vu now accepts appointments for ANTIBODY TESTING for SARS CoV-2. Because we do not yet know the full protective effect of these antibodies, it is critical that you continue to follow the guidelines for social distancing. - According to the CDC, “People with COVID-19 and in home isolation should be advised to restrict interaction with household animals, in addition to following other prevention measures to protect others from COVID-19.
